The Exotronic 300W Fusion Ultra-Light Folding Solar Panel uses N-Type TOPCon solar cells rated at 25.6% cell efficiency, built from four 75W folding modules in a compact briefcase-style design. Exotronic states TOPCon technology gives higher efficiency, better low-light performance and lower long-term degradation than conventional P-type monocrystalline or PERC cells.
Instead of the tempered glass used on many folding panels, this model uses a durable ETFE laminated surface, cutting weight to just 8.7kg - Exotronic states this is around 50% lighter than a conventional briefcase-style folding panel of similar output. An ultra-light reinforced backplate sits behind the cells to reduce flex during transport and setup, which Exotronic says helps guard against the micro-cracking that causes premature output loss in portable panels.
This panel is sold without a solar charge controller, so you will need a separately fused MPPT or PWM controller sized to the panel's output before connecting it to a battery.
