External AC Current Sensing for PowerControl, PowerAssist and Self-Consumption

The Victron Current Transformer 100A:50mA is a split-core AC current sensor for MultiPlus-II and MultiPlus 20kW inverter/chargers (and MultiGrid-II systems). It clips around an existing live AC conductor with no rewiring of the main supply, giving the inverter/charger the external current data it needs to run PowerControl and PowerAssist, and to optimise self-consumption in grid-connected systems, without installing a full DIN-rail energy meter.

This wire-end version is intended for newer MultiPlus-II units and MultiPlus 20kW, which use a two-wire external current-sense terminal rather than the 3.5mm headphone jack fitted to older MultiPlus-II models. Connection is polarity sensitive: after removing the unit's internal wire link, the red wire connects to the EXT terminal and the white wire to the COM terminal.

This model is supplied with a longer, factory-calibrated 5 metre cable for installations where the sensor needs to reach further from the MultiPlus-II, such as a switchboard mounted away from the inverter. It measures single-phase AC current up to 100A, and the cable must not be extended or shortened, as it is calibrated specifically for use with this transformer.
