The Victron 12V 220Ah AGM Deep Cycle Battery uses sealed Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) construction with Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology, where the electrolyte is held in a glass-fibre mat between the plates rather than as free liquid. This makes the battery completely maintenance-free and well suited to the high-current, short-burst loads of inverters, winches and thrusters, while its high-purity lead-calcium grids give it a very low self-discharge rate for long storage between uses.

This 220Ah version is fitted with M8 threaded terminal inserts rather than Victron's standard flat copper terminals, giving a secure, low-resistance connection point for heavy cable lugs without needing separate terminal adapters.

Charging Recommendations

For cyclic use, Victron recommends an absorption voltage of 14.2-14.6V (or 14.6-14.9V for fastest recharge), a float voltage of 13.5-13.8V and a storage voltage of 13.2-13.5V. Charge current should preferably not exceed 0.2C, and temperature compensation is recommended if the battery regularly experiences temperatures below 10°C or above 30°C.
