High-Efficiency 24V to 12V Power Conversion

The Victron Orion 24/12-30 steps a 24V DC supply down to a regulated 12V output, delivering up to 30A continuous (40A maximum) to run 12V equipment and accessories from a 24V vehicle, vessel or off-grid system. Synchronous rectification gives it a high 96% efficiency, minimising heat and wasted energy under sustained load.

Output voltage is adjustable from 10-15V (factory set to 13.2V), so besides simply converting voltage, the Orion 24/12-30 can also buffer-charge a 12V starter or accessory battery in an otherwise 24V system. A remote on/off connector allows the converter to be switched with a low-power switch or an engine run/stop signal, avoiding the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring. Multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase available output current.

This is a non-isolated converter - input and output share a common negative - so it is not intended for applications requiring galvanic isolation between circuits. Power connections are made via 6.3mm Faston tabs, and the unit is rated for an operating temperature range of -20°C to +55°C, derating 3% per °C above 40°C.
