The Victron Anti-Islanding Box 63A is a pre-wired hardware disconnect solution for grid-feeding inverter/charger installations that must meet an external, hardware-based anti-islanding requirement. It houses a Ziehl UFR1001E voltage and frequency relay together with two in-line contactors and a main circuit breaker in a single IP65 enclosure, rated up to 63A per phase for both single-phase and three-phase systems.

The Ziehl UFR1001E relay continuously monitors grid voltage, frequency, vector shift and rate-of-change-of-frequency (ROCOF), and switches the contactors to disconnect the system from the grid if it detects a condition consistent with a lost grid connection. It is a dual-channel, one-fault-proof design with feedback contacts that monitor the connected contactors, and it ships with trip thresholds pre-set to common grid codes such as VDE-AR-N 4105/4110, G98 and G99, which can be adjusted and sealed by a qualified installer to suit local requirements.

Some Distribution Network Service Providers require certified external hardware anti-islanding protection in addition to, or instead of, an inverter's built-in software anti-islanding for larger grid-connected systems. This box provides the relay, contactors and breaker as a single ready-to-mount unit rather than requiring each component to be sourced and wired separately.
