Victron VM-3P75CT Energy Meter: 3-Phase Monitoring with Split-Core CTs

Direct-to-GX Metering via VE.Can or Ethernet, No RS485 Interface Needed

The Victron VM-3P75CT is a three-phase (also usable as single- or split-phase) energy meter that measures power and energy and broadcasts it directly to a Victron GX device over VE.Can or Ethernet, with no separate RS485-to-USB interface needed to get started. It is rated at 75A per phase and can measure up to 80A RMS per phase, using three split-core current transformers supplied ready-wired with 640mm leads, so the meter can be fitted around existing conductors without breaking into the wiring.

Two RJ45 VE.Can ports (with terminators included) connect the meter directly to a GX device's VE.Can network for a simple, network-independent connection, while the built-in Ethernet port uses Modbus UDP to join an existing local network at a 100ms refresh rate. Both connection methods feed live data to the VRM Portal as well as the VictronConnect app, which also handles all configuration, including setting the meter's role, phase configuration and energy registration method.

Beyond basic grid, PV inverter, generator and AC load metering, the VM-3P75CT can also be assigned to track an EV charger or heat pump circuit, and it reports line-to-neutral and line-to-line voltage, power factor, phase sequence and phase rotation warnings for more detailed diagnostics than a basic kWh meter.

Installation

The VM-3P75CT self-powers from its L1-N connection and requires an external switch or circuit breaker as a disconnecting device (not included). Voltage wiring connects via 1.0-2.5mm² screw terminals, and the pluggable current transformer terminals make swapping a damaged CT straightforward. The meter is rated for indoor use only, from -10°C to +55°C.
