Victron Type 2 EV Charging Station: Intelligent 22kW AC Charging with Solar Integration

Smart Electric Vehicle Charging for Homes and Businesses

The Victron Type 2 EV Charging Station delivers up to 22kW AC three-phase or 7.3kW single-phase charging, making it a versatile solution for home EV charging and commercial installations. Designed to integrate seamlessly with Victron energy systems, this intelligent AC charging station can prioritise surplus solar power, helping reduce grid reliance and lower operating costs.

Unlike basic EV chargers, the Victron EV Charging Station features integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a built-in 4.3-inch LCD touch screen, and a programmable RGB light ring for fast status recognition. Its IP44 rated enclosure is suitable for indoor or protected outdoor installation, while the IEC 62196 Type 2 connection supports modern EV charging requirements.

Manual, Automatic and Scheduled Charging Modes

Choose Manual Mode for fixed current control, with adjustable output from 6-32A via the touch screen, web interface, VictronConnect, GX device or VRM Portal. Automatic Mode intelligently detects excess PV production and can direct surplus solar energy to your vehicle, maximising self-consumption and improving the return on your solar investment.

Scheduled Mode adds further flexibility by allowing charging during selected time periods, such as off-peak electricity windows. This makes the Victron EV Charging Station ideal for solar-compatible EV charging, grid-connected systems, hybrid systems and off-grid Victron installations.

Seamless Victron Ecosystem Integration

Monitor and control the charging station directly from a GX device, such as a Cerbo GX or Color Control GX, or remotely via the VRM Portal. Modbus TCP over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity through VictronConnect allow flexible setup, monitoring and control, keeping your EV charger fully integrated within your Victron energy management system.

Built-In Safety and Reliability

The Victron EV Charging Station includes advanced safety features such as detection for missing protective conductor, missing ground, welded relay contact and shorted CP. It is designed to meet IEC 61851-1 and IEC 61851-22 safety standards.

An external RCD is required, and circuit protection should be selected according to the available input power and cable cross-section, up to a maximum of 40A. The power terminals accept 6-10mm² cable, and the compact 377 x 307 x 148mm design weighs only 3kg for straightforward wall mounting.

Why Choose the Victron EV Charging Station?

Many electric vehicle charging stations simply draw from the grid without considering solar availability. The Victron EV Charging Station is designed to work as part of a complete Victron energy system, dynamically managing charging around available solar production, system loads and configured charging modes.

For Victron system owners, native GX and VRM integration removes the need for third-party monitoring platforms and gives you a centralised view of your energy system and EV charging activity. Whether you want to charge manually, use excess solar, or schedule charging for off-peak periods, the Victron EV Charging Station gives you flexible control from the charger, app, web interface or remote portal.

Ideal Applications

  • Home EV charging with solar integration for maximum self-consumption
  • Commercial EV charging where energy management and reporting are important
  • Off-grid and hybrid systems using Victron inverters and GX devices
  • Caravan, motorhome and workshop installations requiring compact AC EV charging

Upgrade your Victron energy ecosystem with the Victron Type 2 EV Charging Station and experience intelligent, solar-optimised charging that puts you in control.
