The Exotronic Karijini pre-wired Victron board, with its MultiPlus-II 3000, SmartSolar, Orion XS, SmartShunt and Cerbo GX called out

Exotronic Karijini pre-wired boards: the Coorong's bigger brother, with a Cerbo GX

Short answer: the Karijini is the Coorong with more charging from the alternator and better monitoring. Same 3000 VA Victron inverter/charger and 50 A solar controller, but a 50 A Orion XS DC-DC instead of a 30 A, a SmartShunt instead of the BMV-712, and a Victron Cerbo GX so you can see and run the whole system from your phone or Victron's VRM portal. If you drive a lot or want to check on the van from home, it's the one to look at. If you don't, the Coorong does the same core job for less.

The listings say lead times vary, so check with us before ordering.

What's on the board?

From Exotronic:

  • Victron MultiPlus-II 3000 VA inverter/charger with a 120 A mains charger and automatic transfer switch. Exotronic quote up to 2400 W continuous (Victron's 25°C figure; see our inverter guide).
  • Victron SmartSolar 50 A MPPT on a red Anderson plug for the panels, with Bluetooth.
  • Victron Orion XS 50 A DC-DC charger. Charges the house battery from the alternator, with Victron's adaptive three-stage charging and a recovery function for a deeply flat battery. More on how these work with smart alternators in our DC-DC guide.
  • Victron SmartShunt 300 A. State of charge, volts and amps, with alarms. Our battery monitor guide covers why a shunt is the way to do it.
  • Victron Cerbo GX. The hub that ties it together: one place to see and adjust everything, remote access through VRM, and inputs for Ruuvi temperature sensors and Mopeka tank sensors (sold separately).
  • Protection: a 12-blade fuse block with Exotronic circuit breakers, and a 400 A MEGA fuse on 70 mm² cable for the inverter. The split version also lists a Smart BatteryProtect (cuts DC loads before the battery goes too flat) and a PV isolator.

Wiring diagrams come with it.

What do I still connect?

The house battery, the panels (red Anderson), the start battery, and the 230 V in and out. Fixed 230 V wiring in a van or caravan is a licensed electrician's job; see our 230 V guide.

Landscape, portrait or split?

Layout Size (Exotronic) Weight (Exotronic) Price
Landscape 1200 x 355 x 170 mm 33 kg $4,889.95
Portrait 780 x 530 x 170 mm not stated $4,869.95
Split 650 x 350 x 100 mm 12 kg $4,889.95

The split mounts the inverter separately from the main board, which Exotronic say helps with heat and with fitting it into tight spaces.

Coorong or Karijini?

  • Drive a lot? The Karijini's 50 A Orion XS puts back more per hour of driving than the Coorong's 30 A, if your alternator can supply it.
  • Want to check the van remotely, or watch tank levels and temperatures? That's the Cerbo GX.
  • Neither? The Coorong does the inverter, shore, solar and DC-DC job and costs less.

The board vs buying the parts

Qty Part Our price each
1 Victron MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-32 $1,524.95
1 Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 $224.95
1 Victron Orion XS 12/12-50A $424.95
1 Victron SmartShunt 300A $93.95
1 Victron Cerbo GX (MK2 on our store) $299.95
The board, 70 mm² cabling, 400 A MEGA fuse, 12-way blade fuse block, circuit breakers, Anderson connectors, assembly and testing not on our store on its own
Parts total (listed parts only) $2,568.75

The whole kit: Exotronic - Karijini Series - Landscape - Pre-wired Victron Board, $4,889.95.

As with any pre-wired board, the gap between the board and the Victron units is the board itself, the cabling, the main fuse and DC distribution, the plugs, and the assembly and testing. If you'd rather build it yourself, every main part is linked above; our pre-wired vs DIY guide helps you decide.
